Snowy conditions didn’t put members off for what was a brilliant Members’ Day 2023.
Sessions on recruitment and retention of staff, getting a grip on operations, managing expectations and the psychology behind pricing all took place as part of this year’s event. Plus, details on MUTA Instruct – Frame Marquee were revealed.
MUTA Executive Committee (Exec) member Johnny Cooper said: “It was a fantastic event. So many topics were discussed and it was great to share ideas, thoughts and experiences with fellow MUTA members.”
MUTA would like to thank its sponsors and media partner for supporting the event.
Thank you to Dean Foster
At the AGM, Dean Foster of Cambridge Marquees stood down from the Exec after three years as MUTA’s president. Dean began his term in April 2020, just as the pandemic started. Dean not only had his own company to worry about, but the association and members’ businesses too.
He was instrumental in introducing initiatives such as the subscription payment holiday, reduced subscription fees, weekly Covid updates, and more recently, the launch of MUTA’s new branding and website.
Lee Dalton appointed as president
The association is delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Dalton, Roder UK sales director, as MUTA president. On his appointment, Lee said: “Firstly, I would like to express my sincere thanks Dean for steering the association through the most turbulent time our industry has ever seen.
“Dean could have easily stepped back from the Exec as the pandemic hit but he remained committed to the cause, making sure members were supported and the views of the industry represented.
“I’ve been on MUTA’s Exec for a few years now so I feel that I have a good understanding of the association and how it operates. As a TWG member, I’ve been heavily involved with the development of MUTA’s new e-learning course which has recently launched. Training is a passion of mine and an area that I would like to focus on during my time as president.
“I would like to thank my fellow Exec members for their support, and I look forward to playing my part in helping MUTA raise industry standards.”
