New Guide to Choosing a Hirer now available

MUTA has published a new edition of its Guide to Choosing a Hirer, providing practical advice to help anyone planning to hire a marquee, tent or temporary structure make informed decisions and choose a competent contractor.

Free to download from the MUTA website, the guide has been written for a wide audience, from couples planning a wedding or private celebration through to event organisers, local authorities, shows and festivals delivering larger public events.

Hiring a temporary structure is about far more than appearance or price. Safety, compliance, and experience all play a vital role in ensuring an event runs smoothly. The new guide explains what customers should expect from a professional hirer and outlines the responsibilities that both clients and contractors share.

The publication also introduces readers to the different types of temporary demountable structures available, offers practical planning advice for private events and provides more detailed guidance for organisers of public events, including information on CDM regulations, documentation, competency, sustainability and Martyn’s Law.

At the heart of the guide is MUTA’s commitment to raising standards. All MUTA members are required to comply with the association’s Best Practice Guide – the industry’s leading technical and safety standard – and undergo two audits each year to demonstrate that those standards are being maintained.

Whether you’re planning an intimate garden party, a large-scale festival, a corporate event or a temporary structure for a sporting event, the Guide to Choosing a Hirer is an invaluable starting point.
