New online training academy to go live

MUTA is pleased to announce that, following recent work with our new learning management system provider, Nucleus, we will be launching a new online training academy in early March.

The new academy will bring together all of MUTA’s e-learning courses into one platform.

Members and non-members will be able to access MUTA Instruct – Frame Marquee, StructureSafe (soon to be renamed to SiteSafe), as well as a comprehensive range of induction-based courses, including manual handling, first aid, and general health and safety training.

Previously, training content was delivered across two separate platforms. The new academy will consolidate everything into one easy-to-use system, making it simpler for users to manage training, track progress, and onboard staff efficiently.

MUTA general manager Joe Chalk said: “I’m proud of the work that has gone into developing this new online academy and confident it will deliver value for members by providing consistent and tailored training in a more accessible way.”

MUTA president and training working group chair Lee Dalton said:

“The new training academy is a significant step forward for MUTA. By bringing all of our training into one modern platform, we’re making it easier for the industry to meet their obligations, improve safety standards, and invest in the development of their teams.”

In recent years, MUTA has prioritised short-form, practical training content designed to support on-site learning, inductions, and refresher training.

However, we will continue to work alongside ESITS on the development of more detailed, long-form training content, ensuring members have access to a full spectrum of learning options as their business and compliance needs evolve.

Further details, including access information and course pricing, will be shared at the Members’ Day on March 4.
