New online training academy launched to support safety and skills across the sector

The UK’s trade association for marquees, tents and structures has officially launched its new online training academy, marking a significant step forward in improving access to industry-specific training and raising standards across the events sector.

Developed in partnership with learning management system provider Nucleus, the new academy brings together all of MUTA’s e-learning courses into a single, streamlined platform.

Previously delivered across multiple systems, the new academy consolidates all content into one user-friendly environment, enabling members and non-members to more easily manage training, track progress, and onboard staff efficiently.

Lee Dalton, MUTA president and chair of the training working group, said: “The new training academy is a significant step forward. By bringing all of our training into one modern platform, we’re making it easier for the industry to meet its obligations, improve safety standards, and invest in workforce development.”

The launch reflects MUTA’s ongoing focus on providing practical, short-form training tailored to real-world, on-site needs, while continuing to support longer-form professional development through its collaboration with the Event Structures Industry Training Scheme.

With on-demand learning now available, the academy supports businesses at every stage – from onboarding new starters to refreshing experienced crews and building core competencies across teams.
